Welcome to your always free, reader-supported edition of The Experiment where we share great things to read, cook, listen to, and watch. As always, this bugga free.
I’ll have thoughts this weekend. Right now it’s just rage. But there are still things to read, listen to, cook, and watch.
Let’s get right to it:
First, something good. Made this soup last night, and it was delicious. (gift link)
This did not age well. (Washington Post)
This was the Clippers Election. (CNN)
Derek Guy says it was the Power Shoulders Election. (gift link)
I have already written out one of these rules (“Build the damn frog float”) and put it on my desk. (Ryan Holiday)
This show is dumb, aims low, has no actor in it you’ve ever seen in anything else, and—God help me—is a lot of fun if your expectations are super low.
An interesting artifact of what Instagram filters have done to young people, but I suspect I am not this movie’s target demo.
More sciency than the original, and less performative performances (that is, no Helen Hunt, which is a good thing as far as I’m concerned), but otherwise not as much fun as the first one.
We set up a merch table in the back where you can get T-shirts, coffee mugs, and even tote bags now. Show the world that you’re part of The Experiment.
Buy the book Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick banned from the Bullock Texas History Museum: Forget the Alamo: The Rise and Fall of the American Myth by Bryan Burrough, Chris Tomlinson, and myself is out from Penguin Random House.
