Very helpful. One of the mottos I've recently adopted is, "Joy is an act of resistance."

Don't let the assholes get you down!

As Nancy Thompson likes to say, all the important interactions happen around the kitchen table. We have such a strong group of like-minded Dem ladies here in Bastrop and Fayette Counties. In fact, we had lunch yesterday at Hope Floats in Smithville. Much more effective than the performative theater of volunteer political activism. Oh, and by the way, very thankful Ryan’s wonderful bookstore is in Bastrop, only 15 minutes from me, rather than Taylor an hour away. 😬

This is great, thanks. I am adding more writing workshops to my teaching schedule. It is so wonderful to sit in a room with 20 or so people who write to a prompt and then share what they wrote. Complete strangers get to experience in real time how much we all have in common as their stories, regardless of being wildly different, always have something that overlaps. It’s just so darn cool. I also spend a lot of time tending to my goats and other livestock. Just like Tommy didn’t know what day it was, or who Jesus was, or what praying was, these clown goats have no clue about politics. They just want to eat and jump on shit. So joyful.
