I don’t mind working late at a job I love. I’ve never been able to do more good for more people as quickly or at scale as I’ve been able to in this job. But last week a work obligation kept me from going to my friend Sarah Bird’s amazing launch party for her lovely new novel, Last Dance on the Starlight Pier. Her book is such a big damn deal that they excerpted it in Texas Monthly, which they don’t do for just any book. I read the book in galleys, and as a published author myself, I feel safe in sharing my professional opinion and Last Dance, which in my estimation is what we call in the book bis “good.” You should buy it, and then you should read it, and then you should join me in spreading the good news of Sarah Bird on a largely unprepared yet also unsuspecting public.

“Given well-documented advances in the field of information warfare, there should be no illusion: today’s culture war cannot be won by any side.” h/t A.G.
This episode of Ryan Holiday’s podcast made me want to quit my job and write full-time.
After the pilot, S turned to me and asked, “Is this what reality television is like?” There is a chaotic energy to We Crashed that has me hooked. It’s nuts.
